Masters Over, Now What? PGA Tour Moves To Players' Favorite Venue!

Quiz: When GolfWorld magazine recently interviewed PGA Tour Pros about their favorite places to play, guess which course was the top ranked regular PGA Tour stop? Here’s a hint – it was not Muirfield Village, or Colonial, or Bay Harbor. TPC Sawgrass did not crack the Top 10. It was not even Pebble Beach, though the famed Monterrey course was the runner up.

The winner? Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

With its iconic lighthouse, Harbour Town was voted the PGA Tour's favorite regular annual venue.

 

Way back in 1967, two virtually unknown golf course designers, Pete Dye and star golfer Jack Nicklaus, built a course which was revolutionary at the time, with wind as the chief defense, honoring the Scottish style from which all golf springs. Both went on to great acclaim as two of the top designers of the past century, with hundreds of courses between them, but Harbour Town is still one of the very best.
